Day Two of Mini Vaca: Perusing Downtown D.C.

Day Two we started the day with my cousin Vinnie's Wedding Rehearsal, but that was a short time before we headed back to D.C. to meet up with friends for dinner, drinks and FUN!

Check out some of our evening festivities!

We went for Sushi, Hookah and Drinks at Gazuza Lounge in Dupont Circle, and it was amazing! I'm not a hookah person, so I did not partake in that, but I did absolutely enjoy the sushi! The Sabotage Roll was the best! It will set your mouth on fire!!!

Me and Ashley enjoying the atmosphere! Paul was able to get some fun shots!

Then we headed around the other side of Dupont Circle to Eighteenth Street Lounge. A hip bar with good music and lot of interesting people (great for people watching)!

Jeff and his friends, Aliya and Cat... having a good time!

One of the only pics of Paul and I together on the trip! Thank you Ashley! :)

Me and Ash getting our buzz on!

Paul, doing the Jeff pose! haha

We had parted ways with Jeff and his friends at the Eighteenth Street Lounge and decided to meet back up with them. After leaving Dupont, we headed over to U Street for some more bar hopping. We stopped in one of  Jeff's favorite stops, Queen Makeda, it was pretty cool, but a little empty for our taste and Jeff and his friends weren't there, so onto the next stop!

From there we reunited with Jeff and his gang at Black Bird's or Black Cats... I'm really not sure! But it was a really cool spot and a nice place to end our D.C. bar tour!

And last, but certainly not least we stopped into the place that Jeff calls JUMBO SLICE, and had like a quarter of this huge pizza per person! It was definitely a good stop after a night of drinking, of course definitely off our diet. Oh well, it definitely hit the spot!

We made it home safe and sound, and actually woke up in plenty of time to head out to MD for the wedding (it started at 2PM and Paul was photographing so we had to be there early)! This was truly a busy weekend, but it's totally awesome to experience D.C. in new ways every time we go!

Day One of Mini Vaca: We made it to D.C.!

The drive up went really smooth, we were able to leave the house around 5AM, and made it into the city by 2:30PM. I think we hit is just right!

We're staying right in the city with a friend, and the house is pretty awesome and in walking distance of Capitol Hill! Thank you Jeff and especially Chantal for giving us a free place to stay! The house is a 1930's home and has so much character! Chantal also has a great garden in the back yard.

Hanging with friends, meeting new people, and catching up on old times! We were enjoying the good company of Jeff and Chantal.

After a few drinks, we decided to head over to the fish market to grab some fresh fish to grill out, gotta love having these kind of things so close!

We ended up getting some fresh grouper, and I was ready to get back to grill it up! I get grumpy when I'm hungry, can you tell??

Well we got back and the guys cooked up some amazing grouper (the best we've ever had!) and corn on the cobb, and it was amazing! After a long day of driving, I crashed, but the boys partied on!

It was definitely a good start to this mini vaca and wedding trip!

Engagement Shoot in Downtown Norcross, GA

This past weekend we had a great shoot with Christine and Sean in downtown Norcross. It was a beautiful day, started out a little chilly and overcast, but the sun came out and it was a great day. We had a lot of awesome shots of this couple and they were very open to whatever. Downtown Norcross is such a great place for photography with multiple parks, a very cute downtown area and just an overall nostalgic and fun feel.

Here are some of our favorites! Oh and Paul was able to do some HDRs too... Click Here for the full gallery.

Can't wait for their wedding in November! It'll be quite the party!!

Labor Day Holiday in Smoky Mountains - North Carolina... Wonderful!

We've started an annual Labor Day trip to the Smoky Mountains with our friend's Shane and Ashley Cash. This was the third year out, and it was gorgeous! Of all the trips we've taken, I very much look forward to this one because it's not only beautiful, but its SOOOO relaxing. The cabin we rent is situated right on the river, and has an awesome covered porch with rocking chairs so you can relax and watch all the kayakers, rafters and tubers float by.

Even though Chunky had hurt himself, that didn't get him down! He loves to run, especially at the cabin in NC (cone and all)!
Ashley got a cool watch and it a super cute Zebra Bag!
We just love jewelry!
I got a really cute new bracelet and it was only $5!

The highlights of this trip mostly took place in Asheville, which is about a 45 minute drive from where we were staying. Unbeknown-st to us, there are a festival going on down North Lexington St., where we were entertained with people watching everywhere we looked! It was pretty awesome.

People watching is so fun!
Enjoying a beer at the Thai Restaurant we stopped at...
Lunch with the Cash's in Asheville, NC
Musical Delights, The Johnny Cakes...
Very Cool
Little ole me...
We were the weird ones without these awesome outfits!
This was another character we watched... and he didn't have shoes! UGH. Of course he wasn't the only one!
You have to see both the front and the back to get the full effect of this kind of people watching! haha
Yeah, what a fun time... can't wait until next year!

Ashley and I enjoyed our shopping in both Asheville and downtown Dillsboro, and while we tried to make it to the Biltmore for a wine tasting, we were a bit too distracted and missed out on that opportunity! Either way it was an awesome trip, and we can't wait for next year!

Artwork for Our Bedroom... What do you think about this??

So one of the things that was so important to me following our wedding was to set up our "grown-up" bedroom. We received some awesome bedding for wedding gifts, so we were set there, but we still had yet to have our bedroom suite.

I had looked online and dragged Paul from store to store in search of the perfect bedroom suite but was at an absolute loss! Then one weekend we decided to go to The Dump with our friend Yarden, and I was ready to make a decision! And we did! We bought a beautiful bedroom suite, fully decked out - Bed, two night stands, men's chest, dresser with mirror and a media stand. It's pretty awesome! Oh and can't forget a new mattress too. We got a pretty great deal at The Dump, I would totally go back again when we are in need of furniture and home decor, etc.

So now we are onto decor items... lamps and artwork. I've been searching for the perfect (reasonably priced) lighting options. But since Paul has created all these awesome HDR images, we are seriously considering having some of those printed to hang over the bed.

Bedroom Giclée

We took a picture of our bedroom and digitally imposed the prints we are thinking about. Which options do you think look best. Watch the below animation and let me know!

Congratulations to Liz and Josh! What a Beautiful Wedding!

This past weekend Paul and I were down in St. Simon's Island for a wedding! Liz (the bride) was a previous co-worker of Paul's and she asked if he would do the honor of photographing her big day. Liz and Josh were married at Villa De Suenos, a gorgeous luxury oceanfront home in St. Simon's Island. It was a beautiful estate, amazing weather, and a very sweet intimate ceremony.

We were very excited to be able to share in Liz and Josh's big day! Take a peak at some of the beautiful images from the wedding!

The location was amazing! I would love to go back for a week vaca/couple's retreat! Wouldn't that be fun!?

Paul's Cranking Out Some AMAZING Artwork!

While down in the St. Simon's Island area for a wedding, Paul and I had the opportunity to tour around Jekyll Island.  Neither of us had ever been before, so we thought it would be a great new place to check out! For only being seven miles long, it's definitely a photographer's dream, and has plenty more activities that would definitely bring Paul and I back again in the future!

So on to the images! I think we are going to get one blown up as a 30 x 40 for over our bed! Which do you think we should get?? See the full gallery here!

I love the ones with the driftwood, there is a Dali feel, but they also feel so desolate, and I don't know if I want that over my bed!

The tree ones are beautiful, and you'd have to imagine them in black and white b/c that is how we would have the one for the bedroom done!

We really need a horizontal one, but I do love this one! It's got so much color and dynamic! You should definitely check out the full gallery here!

And if you are interested in purchasing prints or canvases of Paul's work contact him via his website paulperdue.com.

Hope you enjoy!

We Finally Got Our Wedding Album!

Paul and I were married on November 13th of last year. It took us a while to get our wedding album design done, but I put the deadline of Mother's Day out there and we met it! We decided to buy an album for each of our Mom's for Mother's day and they were so excited. But after spending the money on that, we really didn't want to invest in one for ourselves just yet!

But it turned out great that we waited cause, the company (Blurb.com) we use to publish our albums has come out with a "proline" with a pearl paper. I was so excited to see that and was totally ready to order it and we did! It was delivered yesterday and look look, it's WONDERFUL!

You can check out the full digital click-through of the album here...

Paul does amazing photography and just as amazing design  albums! Whether or not you have him photograph your wedding or event, he could certainly design you an amazing album! Check out his photography site and albums to find out more!

Paul's Awesome Photography in St. George Island

Following our trip to PCB, Paul and Elaine traveled to St. George Island to meet with another client, Sandy Mitchem, and network a bit. St. George Island is beautiful! Check out the images below and click here to view the full gallery!

Amazing photography Paul, you are SO talented! Love you! ;-)

PCB Trip this Past Weekend...

Paul has gotten a lot of business photographing properties, for sale and for rent, and got a gig to photograph some property in PCB. Paul's parent's already have a condo down there, so it's minimal expense when available, and it's a great way for PerdueVision to increase business!

Even though it was just for the weekend, you just can't say no to the opportunity to go to the beach! We had the privilege of spending the weekend with John and Elaine Hoyt, and it was a lot of fun working with them as well as hanging out with them! Hopefully Paul and Elaine can drum up more business at the beach so we can take more trips to the beach for a bit of business and a bit more pleasure!

Check out some pics from our mini vaca to PCB! The water was amazing! The waves were so calm, e were able to lay on floats in the ocean, it was great!
